A new Deloitte survey of more than 220 private company financial professionals indicates support for having separate accounting standards for private and public companies. And, with the International Accounting Standards Board's (IASB) just-released International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-Sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), Deloitte expects more private companies to support separate accounting standards.

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index™ (LEI) for the Euro Area increased 1.5 percent in June to 95.9 (2004 = 100), following a 1.7 percent increase in May and a 1.6 percent increase in April. Seven of the eight components contributed positively to the index this month.
