The high level of the consumer climate in the summer months has not been sustained in September. All three main indicators of the consumer mood are slightly down. Due to the most recent developments of the consumer climate, GfK has decreased its forecast growth of private consumption from 1.0 to 0.6% for 2007 as a whole. Following the revised 7.4 points in September, the consumer climate forecast for October is 6.8 points.

In the first half of 2007, 6.65 million sets of Chinese brand displays were sold in China. Out of these, the CRT display sales volume stood at 1.498 million sets, down 39.4% year-on-year, while the LCD display sales volume reached 5.152 million sets, up 112.7%. In the LCD market, sales for the 19" display and >19" display segments grew fast, up 495.9% and 1204.0%, respectively.
