Euro Area External Trade Surplus 28.3 bn Euro

The first estimate for the euro area (EA13) trade balance with the rest of the world in December 2007 gave a 4.2 bn euro deficit, compared with +2.4 bn in December 2006. The November 2007 balance was +3.0 bn, compared with +5.3 bn in November 2006. In December 2007 compared with November 2007, seasonally adjusted exports fell by 2.5% while imports rose by 0.7%.

According to Bankrate.com's weekly national survey of large lenders, the average 30-year fixed mortgage has an average of 0.37 discount and origination points.
