The U.S. Import Price Index rose 1.7 percent in March, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported. The increase followed a 0.1 percent rise in February and was led by an increase in petroleum prices. The price index for exports increased for the fifth consecutive month, advancing 0.7 percent in March.

Seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.6% in the euro area (EA13) in February 2007 compared to January 2007. Production fell by 0.5% in January and rose by 1.2% in December 2006. In the EU27 output gained 0.5% in February, after a decrease of 0.5% in January and an increase of 1.0% in December.

Third-party logistics gross revenues for the U.S. broke $110 billion for the first time in 2006. 3PL gross revenues hit $113.6 billion, a 9.5% increase. Net revenues were $53.1 billion. EBIT and net income margins in relation to net revenue were 8.6% and 5.4% respectively. Margins for the year were down slightly due to the fourth quarter economic slowdown.
