In October 2007 compared with September 2007, the industrial producer price index rose by 0.6% in the euro area (EA13), and by 0.9% in the EU27. In September, prices increased by 0.4% and 0.5% respectively. In October 2007 compared with October 2006, industrial producer prices gained 3.3% in the euro area and 3.5% in the EU27.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico told MEPs from the Economics Committee on Monday that his country would meet the criteria for adopting the euro with effect from January 2009.
