The market is down 21. Dow finished 3 points up. The Dow was up 124 in the morning with "good news" on the financial front. But a broad based pull back in the afternoon saw the market dip to be down 26 at its lowest. Still, happy to see some consolidation after the Dow's gain last week of 3.2% and a rise in the S&P of 7.8% off its March 10 low.

In a recent Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index, 74 percent of small business owners who hire paid employees said it was difficult to find qualified employees - up from 65 percent in March 2005.

In the first quarter of 2008, U.S. private equity firms raised $58.5 billion in 81 funds, up nearly 32% over the $44.3 billion raised in 68 funds during the first quarter of 2007, according to industry newsletter Dow Jones Private Equity Analyst. Last year's full-year record now stands at $309 billion.

The European Commission introduced rules to harmonise conditions for the take-off of pan-European mobile communication services on aircraft. These services will allow businesspeople and consumers to receive and make calls and messages safely with their own mobile phones while flying all over Europe. This means that the 90% of European air passengers that already carry mobile phones on-board aircraft can remain contactable during flights.

Based on information received from members and member organizations, short interest increased to an all time high of 16,142,578,259 shares from 16,009,687,994 shares on March 14, 2008. This was an increase of 132,890,259 shares.
